Hybrid Stepper Motor
Linear Actuators
NEMA 11 (28mm)
The NEMA 11 hybrid linear actuator occupies a mounting footprint of slightly above 1 in² but provides over 3X the continuous thrust (33 lbsF/150N) of the NEMA 8. Ball screw versions are also available.
The NEMA 11 stepper motor linear actuator features easy integration into your applications, a high level of precision, safer performance, and an economical cost. The NEMA 11 stepper motor linear actuator has four form factors available – electric cylinder, captive, non-captive, and an external linear version.
Let our world class applications engineering team help you determine whether the NEMA 11 stepper motor linear actuator or one of our other linear actuator solutions is best suited to meet your application’s needs.

This chart provides an overview of the force required to backdrive stepper linear actuators, a critical parameter for determining their suitability in various applications. Backdriving occurs when an external force causes the lead screw to rotate, moving the actuator without motor input. Understanding the backdriving force is essential for ensuring the stability and precision of motion control systems.
The data is categorized by NEMA motor size, motor stack type (single or double), and lead screw lead, offering a comprehensive comparison for different configurations. Whether you're selecting components for a new design or evaluating the performance of an existing system, this chart serves as a valuable reference for making informed decisions.
